Not gonna lie. I didn’t expect to start CJ and Karen’s wedding day watching Planet of the Apes. I don’t think CJ and his groomsmen did either. But we did while they were getting ready. It’s not a movie I would rent (no offense if you’re a lover of this human / ape movie…) but I think we all secretly liked watching. The best part (and by that I mean the most hilarious part) was when the main actor and the main woman ape kiss. Good lord. Scroll down. You’ll see the picture. We were all laughing.
Speaking of outward displays of affection, throughout the day CJ and Karen were always laughing, smiling, kissing, hugging, high-fiving, and in good spirits. But I don’t think it was only because it was their wedding day. I think they’re always like this. Why, you may be asking? All I can say is when you know, you just know.
There were various unique and beautiful moments throughout the day, like when we were driving around the country club in golf carts making portraits just before sunset, or the beautiful flowers in submerged in wedding vases, or the insane dance party that ensured shortly thereafter. There were costumes covered in sequins, a foam hat that attached to your head, a special presentation by the Jackson 5, and the best DJ of your life, making for an unforgettable dance-a-thon. Ten o’clock (or was it eleven?) came much too soon. Thanks so much, CJ and Karen.
I remember us all singing along to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’ “Home”, and I thought you would like to, too, so turn up your speakers, get ready to whistle, click play, and enjoy.
